These release notes describe the most important changes/fixes in version 7.0.0 of the CS R4+ software.
This release of CS R4+ introduces support for the eDental Prior Approval claim system which replaces the previously paper based system used in Scotland, for further information please see the provided user guides (copies are also included n your upgrade DVD under the information folder).
After feedback received from users which indicated that at times the claim exemption is updated after the CoT is completed which was no longer possible due to how Exemptions are being tracked under eDental.
To mitigate this problem this we have re-implemented the ability to change the Exemption applied within the claim form as previously used however it is now possible to set the ‘Exemption at course Acceptance’ and the ‘Exemption at course Completion’ using different side-tabs from within the claim form Exemption tab this is for situations where Exemptions change during the CoT as it affects both the course charges and the transmitted data in eDental.
NOTE: This change will only affect the claim being edited, it is still expected that the current active Exemption is always set and maintained on the Patient Record Schemes tab at all times, this ability to edit is purely to allow historic corrections where absolutely necessary against specific claims.
Due to the various ages that a patient’s most current BPE could be this has caused some issues with payment claims under eDental so the board has changed eDental guidance to stop automatic transmission of the BPE if present and instead will request the BPE directly from site if they need to see it, eDental Payment Claims will now ignore any BPE only including it where required for Prior Approval requests.
Due to additional data needed for transmission under Prior Approval we have updated how R4+ handles discretionary codes which also benefits Clinicians in speeding up the process of adding these codes to a CoT as they no longer need to look up the required values other than the needed suffix:
By Treatment Tab: Users will now be prompted with a supported suffix list and default charges for each one allowing the user to simply accept or edit the price if needed.
By Clinical chart: Users will still add discretionary codes without their Suffix and with a zero value however once a CoT is closed and the Prior Approval or Payment Claim is shown the user can now specify the suffix via a dropdown which will then automatically set the default charge that the user can then edit if needed.
Encase of a power outage or serious system wide failure the CS R4+ service maintains a log of any active transactions to ensure if restarted back up it can recover at the exact same point without losing any claims in-progress.
This mechanism had a small issue in that certain transactions would be cleared by CS R4+ during normal use, but remained present in the service log causing a mismatch between R4+ and the Service which stopped the service from being restarted, we have fixed this by synchronising the queue during start-up to remove any stale transactions allowing the service to restart successfully if an accurate transaction queue if it is ever stopped.
