These release notes describe the most important changes/fixes in version 6.5.1 of the CS R4+ software.
We have corrected a payment allocation issue where a payment is split for example due to a sundry sale being greater than the advance payment on the patient, if further activity occurred on the patient that then triggered a Payment Recalculation this would cause the split payment to be incorrectly handled resulting in an incorrect allocation.
We have also made changes to identify patients already affected by this issue and mark them for recalculation the next time the patient is accessed this will then also fix any existing occurrences of this issue.
We have made changes to now apply a Band 1 patient charge to Urgent Courses of Treatment that are Examination only as required by CCN34. This affects patients in the following age bands only, no other patient age range is affected by these changes in CS R4+:
Patients over 18 and under 25
Patients over 60
Changes made in v6.5 to allow GDS and Non-GDS courses to run concurrently without affecting the patient record or each courses claims meant that any patients who are non-exempt are now gaining a patient charge from the Non-GDS course which the board has clarified should never happen under this contract type, we have made an immediate fix to stop the patient charge specifically for Non-GDS based courses of treatment.
Changes made in v6.5 to allow GDS and Non-GDS courses to run concurrently without affecting the patient record or each other’s claims meant that any patients with an active exemption now transmits that exemption for Non-GDS course claims which the board has clarified is not allowed, we have made an immediate fix to always omit any current exemption from the transmitted claims for Non-GDS based claims.
Due to some repositioning changes made in v6.5.0 we accidentally hid the DSR Number input field which is required for new dentists or dentists sharing a list number to maintain a valid DSR sequence for transmitted claims, this has now been restored.
The board has increased the length of the comment they can respond to a claim from compass, this has caused some immediate processing issues when receiving EDI schedules as the length could be longer than CS R4+ expected causing errors, we have now increased the validated maximum size for the response XML tag as per the boards instruction which will stop further occurrences due to this change.
Changes made in v6.5 to allow GDS and Non-GDS courses to run concurrently for eDental had accidentally affected the ability to produce Registration Only claims, we have made an immediate fix to address this problem and Registration only claims should now work correctly again for all sites affected.
