Getting Started > Configuring the PracticeWorks Software
PracticeWorks enables you to import images directly from your digital camera into a patient’s record.
Before you can use this feature, you must configure the PracticeWorks software to recognize the drive represented by your digital camera’s card reader.
To configure this:
From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > CS PracticeWorks > Configuration of CS PracticeWorks.
From the Setup menu, select General Configuration. The General Configuration window is displayed.
Click the plus signs (+) next to Integration and Digital Camera, and then select Import Directory. At the bottom of the window, Setting for this workstation is selected by default.
The digital camera import directory must be configured for each workstation.
Click the Browse button, and navigate to the directory represented by your digital camera’s card reader.
For more information about connecting your camera to your computer, see your camera manufacturer’s documentation.
When you have reached the appropriate directory, click Open.
Click Save Entry.
In the Digital Camera list, select Delete Images from Camera after Importing.
In the Value field, use the drop-down list to select No.
Selecting Yes erases the images from your camera. Ensure the transfer of the images before deleting them from your camera.
Click Save Entry.
Click Close.
