With the release of version 14.0 of the OrthoTrac software, the fingerprint scanner is no longer supported.
You can set up the timeclock feature to require fingerprint validation before a staff member’s status can be changed. When using timeclock fingerprint validation, you must use the fingerprint scanner each time you want to change your status, regardless of whether you are already logged in at your terminal.
If your office is using timeclock fingerprint validation, you must use the fingerprint scanner to change your timeclock status.
Mandatory fingerprint validation for the timeclock must be enabled in the Timeclock Maintenance window. See Setting Up the Timeclock for more information.
To change your timeclock status using fingerprint validation:
Click the Timeclock button. The Timeclock window is displayed.
Move the mouse pointer over your name and click and drag your name from the list in the Staff Member column to one of the status buttons. The Fingerprint Validation window is displayed.
If you have enabled fingerprint validation and attempt to use the timeclock feature on a computer which does not have a fingerprint scanner attached to it, a message is displayed, stating that you must move to a computer to which a scanner is attached.
Place your finger firmly on the scanner. Your fingerprint is automatically scanned. If the fingerprint matches the name you have selected, the software updates your status.
If your name and fingerprint do not match, a message is
displayed, stating that the fingerprint does not match the staff member
being moved.
Click OK. The Fingerprint Validation window is
displayed. Scan your fingerprint again.
