With the release of version 14.0 of the OrthoTrac software, the fingerprint scanner is no longer supported.
To scan a fingerprint:
To scan a staff member’s fingerprint:
On the main menu, click Maintenance/Set-up and select Staff Maintenance. The OrthoTrac Staff Lookup window is displayed.
Select the name of the staff member whose fingerprint you want to scan and click Change. The Staff Maintenance window is displayed.
Click Fingerprint. The Fingerprint Maintenance window is displayed.
To scan a patient’s fingerprint:
On the main menu, click Open Patient Chart. The OrthoTrac Patient Lookup window is displayed.
Select the name of the patient whose fingerprint you want to scan and click OK. The patient chart is displayed.
Click Patient Information. The Patient Information window is displayed.
Click Fingerprint. The Fingerprint Maintenance window is displayed.
Click Enroll. The Fingerprint Enrollment window is displayed.
The middle finger is selected by default. To obtain the best-quality image, it is recommended that you scan the patient or staff member’s middle finger when possible. If necessary, click a different finger on the Fingerprint Enrollment window and scan that finger.
Click in the box marked Click here to capture fingerprint. The Scan Fingerprint window is displayed.
Ask the patient or staff member to place his finger firmly on the scanner. The fingerprint is scanned automatically, and the Fingerprint Enrollment window is displayed.
Select an option:
If the fingerprint is not satisfactory, click the fingerprint image to scan again.
If the fingerprint is satisfactory, click Register. The Identify Fingerprint message is displayed.
Click OK twice.
A fingerprint icon is displayed
in the lower-left side of the Patient Information window if a patient
has a fingerprint in the database.
A fingerprint icon is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Staff
Maintenance window if a staff member has a fingerprint in the database.
