Verifying a Fingerprint

If a patient or staff member has a fingerprint on file but is having problems checking in or logging in:

TIP:

  1. On the Fingerprint Maintenance window, click Verify. The Verify Fingerprint window is displayed.

  2. Ask the patient or staff member to place his finger firmly on the scanner. The fingerprint is scanned automatically.

If the fingerprint matches the current patient or staff member, the Verify Fingerprint message is displayed, stating that the fingerprint matches the fingerprint on file.

Click OK twice.

If the fingerprint scanned does not match the current patient or staff member, the Verify Fingerprint warning message is displayed, stating that the fingerprint does not match the fingerprint on file.

Click OK. The Fingerprint Maintenance window is displayed. Update the fingerprint, following the steps under Updating a Fingerprint.
