With the release of version 14.0 of the OrthoTrac software, the fingerprint scanner is no longer supported.
You can use the fingerprint scanner to log in to the software instead of selecting a name and entering a password. If your office uses the automatic logoff option and your computer is locked due to inactivity, you can log in again using the fingerprint scanner.
To log in using the fingerprint scanner:
Open OrthoTrac as you typically would. If a fingerprint scanner is attached to the computer, the Staff Login window informs you that you can log in using the fingerprint scanner.
There is no change to the login instructions on the Staff Login window if a fingerprint scanner is not connected to your computer.
Place your finger firmly on the scanner. Your fingerprint is automatically scanned.
If your fingerprint is on file, the login automatically occurs.
If the software does not detect
a match, the Staff Login—Identification Failed message is displayed.
Click OK. The Staff Login window is displayed.
Repeat the steps listed above.
