Editing Today's Treatment Card Entries

To ensure the integrity of treatment card data, you can edit the data only on the same day it was entered. The fields that can be changed include: AS, DR, OH, PROCEDURES, and TREATMENT NOTES/COMMENTS. If you made an erroneous entry for today in any of the user-defined areas on the Tooth Chart tab, click on the specific box, select the entry, and answer Yes to the prompt to delete the entry.

To make changes or additions to today’s treatment data:

  1. In the patient’s treatment card, select Edit > Edit Today's Treatment. The Edit Today’s Treatment Card Entries window is displayed.

  2. Select an optionoption:

    • To delete both the procedure codes and treatment notes/comments on a particular line, click in the DL column to place an x on the line.

    • To delete individual procedure codes, click once in the PROCEDURES column. The Procedures window is displayed. In the Selected Procedures section, select the procedure you want to remove and click the arrow button. Click OK.

    • If you make a change to procedure codes by deleting a line with a procedure code or using the Procedure Code window, the patient’s financial information and Patient Tracking does not reflect the change. If you want the financial information and Patient Tracking to match, you must make the adjustment in each of those areas separately.

    • Add procedure codes from the main treatment card, not in the Edit Today's Treatment Card Entries window, since additions made here are not carried forward to Patient Checkout.

    • To delete or change the text in the TREATMENT NOTES/COMMENTS column, select the text in the rich text box and make the changes.

    • You can use the icons above the rich text box to change the following font characteristics: Note Color, Bold, Italics, and Underline. Click Predefined to select and add predefined text to your notes.

  3. When your edits are complete, click OK.

  4. Using the Edit Today’s Treatment Card Entries window before Patient Checkout does not affect the procedures that are displayed in the financial window. You should inform the checkout staff to alter the procedures that should be posted to the ledger and Patient Tracking.
