Using the Patient Window > Using the Document/Image Window
WinOMS enables you to scan and attach images to a patient's record. You can also attach images created by other programs. You can use your scanner as a copier, even for x-rays.
You can store scanned images in the following formats: . TIF, . BMP, .JPG, or . PCX. You can save both images and documents in the portable document format (PDF).
To scan x-rays, your scanner must be equipped with a full-sized transparency adapter.
If you have images captured with Trophy software, version 5 or lower, you must convert the images to WinOMS images. See Using the TROPHY Software to OMS Imaging Software Converter for more information.
From the Patient window, select EMR > Images. Use the filter to select Clinical, Non-Clinical, or both.
Select an image in the list to view it in the Preview panel. Double-click to open the image in the Document/Image window.
You can also access images from the Workspace area of the Patient window. Select the Attachments tab, then Images. Use the filter to select Clinical, Non-Clinical, or both.
Images are displayed as thumbnails. If you want the list of images to display as a text list, or to return to displaying thumbnails, use the toggle button in the lower right corner of the tab:
Double-clicking the image in either format opens it in the Document/Image window.
