Configuring Image Location

You can use the My Computer Settings window to define where images are stored on your computer, and how these images are accessed from the Patient window.

The default image folder is: C:\WinOMSCS\Images

To change the default image folder:

  1. Select Utilities > My Computer Settings > Imaging Settings. The Imaging Settings tab is displayed.

  2. In the Directory field, enter a new folder location.

  3. Click Ok.

Remote vs. Local

The Computer is located at the "Main" office option is selected by default. This tells the software that your computer has ready access to the Images folder and can load images quickly into the thumbnail viewer of the Patient Workspace.

If your computer is remote, or its operation is slowed by the loading of images, you can deselect this option. As a result, a text list of images is displayed instead of thumbnails in EMR - Overview and Workspace - Attachments tabs.

OMS Imaging

When the OMS Imaging software is installed, the status of the OMS Imaging field is Integrated. This means that images launch into OMS Imaging within WinOMS.

If you want the images to launch in a separate window, outside of the WinOMS, use the drop-down list to select Stand-Alone. This enables you to launch images and view the applications side by side.
