Using the Appointment Card

Use the appointment card to add, edit, or view the details of a patient’s appointment, including procedures and estimated payment details. You can also use the appointment card to perform actions, such as checking the patient in and out.

At the bottom of the card, you can access the appointment log, save changes, rebook the appointment, or cancel the appointment.

Patient Information

The top left portion of the appointment card displays the patient’s name, age, image, responsible party, contact information, medical alerts, and missed appointment information. You can click the links to access the patient’s chart and eligibility information.

Procedures

Use the procedures section to enter and view the procedures for the appointment, the cost of each procedure and the estimated payment details.

Notes

Notes are automatically created in the Notes section when you perform many functions. You can also enter notes manually.

When you create a note, you can flag the note for action by clicking the flag icon that appears with the note. A Flag this note to: pop-up is displayed. Choose one of the following:

Appointment Details

Use the Appointment Details section on the right side of the card to perform the following actions:

Pending Appointments

Click this section to see a list of the patient's cancelled, broken, or failed appointments. Appointments that were created and saved, but not scheduled, are also displayed. The procedures for each appointment are displayed in the panel.

Click the pending appointment to book or rebook it.

Treatment Plan

Click this section to view the patient's treatment plan information, displayed in groups of procedures.

To add a procedure to the current appointment, click it once. Once a procedure has been added to an appointment, it is removed from the Treatment Plan list to prevent scheduling the same procedure twice.

Images

If your practice management software is set up to send images, you can click this section to view recent images attached to the patient's record. Newer images are displayed by default, but you can click Older Images to see more.

You can also click View Images from the appointment tile flyout to display an image panel that remains open until you close it.
