Using the SoftDent Charting Module

The charting module is an advanced dental charting feature that enables you to do the following for the visit:

• Chart patient conditions and procedures

• Perform mucogingival junction (MGJ) and free gingival margin (FGM) charting

• Record a variety of special exams (including periodontal screening and recording (PSR))

• Post all transactions

You can use the following to perform all restorative and periodontal charting:

• Mouse

• Keyboard

• Light pen

• Touch-screen

This module also supports voice input for periodontal charting.

Using this module while creating and storing the chart, you have instant access to:

• Patient data

• Transaction information

• Treatment plans

When you open a chart, it is automatically updated to reflect all applicable transactions posted in the practice management software since the chart was last viewed.
