E-mailing Charts

You can e-mail a chart from the charting module or practice management software. You can include any patient images or documents that have been saved using the document manager.

To e-mail charts or images associated with a patient record:

  1. Select an option:

On the Restorative, Exams, Clinical Imaging, or Treatment Planning tabs when a patient’s chart is displayed in the Chart for window:On the Restorative, Exams, Clinical Imaging, or Treatment Planning tabs when a patient’s chart is displayed in the Chart for window:Select E-mail this patient’s chart from the Common toolbar.

  3. On the Restorative tab when a patient’s chart is displayed in the Chart for window:On the Restorative tab when a patient’s chart is displayed in the Chart for window:Select Chart > Patient Documents and Images. The Documents window is displayed. Select the image, and click E-Mail.

  4. On any tab in the Chart for window when a patient’s chart is displayed:On any tab in the Chart for window when a patient’s chart is displayed:Select File > E-Mail Current Chart.

  5. On any tab in the Chart for window when a patient’s chart is displayed:On any tab in the Chart for window when a patient’s chart is displayed:Press Ctrl + E.

  6. In the Patient List window:In the Patient List window:Select a patient and select Documents from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu. The Documents window is displayed. Select the image, and click E-Mail.

  7. In the Patient window:In the Patient window:Select Documents from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu. The Documents window is displayed. Select the image, and click E-Mail.

  8. In the Account List window:In the Account List window:Select an account and select Documents from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu. The Documents window is displayed. Select the image, and click E-Mail.

  9. In the Account window:In the Account window:Select Documents from the Options section of the Express bar or the Options menu. The Documents window is displayed. Select the image, and click E-Mail.

The SoftDent E-Mail window is displayed. The patient’s name and e-mail address are displayed in the Recipient section of the window.

To send the e-mail to the primary insurance company, primary insurance plan, a lab that has an open lab case, or a referring doctor associated with the patient:To send the e-mail to the primary insurance company, primary insurance plan, a lab that has an open lab case, or a referring doctor associated with the patient:Select the party from the Recipient drop-down list. The e-mail address associated with the party is displayed in the Address field.

  3. To send the e-mail to another party:To send the e-mail to another party:Type the recipient’s name in the Name field and the e-mail address in the Address field.

  1. Type the information in the Subject and Message fields.

  2. Select the document or image to attach to the e-mail and click Add. Place your mouse over an image in the Attached Images section to view details.

  3. To remove an image from the Attached Images section, right-click the image and select Remove Image from the submenu.

  4. Click OK (Send).
