Setting Up Prescription Drugs
If you will print prescriptions from the PracticeWorks software, add
the drugs that you will prescribe.
Note: If you plan to use electronic
prescriptions, you do not need to enter prescription drugs to this list.
To set up prescription drugs:
Select Lists
> Prescription Drugs. The Prescription
Drug List is displayed.

Click Add.
The Prescription Drug window
is displayed.

Enter information in the following
fields to create the prescription template:
Name Enter
the name you will see when selecting a prescription template from
your list. This name
will not show on the printed prescription.
Rx Enter
the name of the drug to prescribe. This is the name that will show
on the printed prescription.
Dosage Enter
the appropriate dosage.
Dispense Enter
the number of tablets/capsules or liquid measurement.
Directions Enter
the instructions for how the patient should take the drug.
Refills Enter
the appropriate number of refills.
Additional
Instructions Enter any
additional instructions that you want the patient to have when taking
this drug.
Click OK.
