You can review watch information from any tab of the chart. In this exercise, add a watch to tooth number 9. The watch should say Calculus buildup.
To add a watch:
If it is not already selected, click the Restorative tab.
On the Procedure Codes toolbar, click the Add a Watch for a Tooth button, and then click tooth number 9. The Clinical Note window is displayed.
In the Re field, type Watch - Calculus buildup.
Because the situation is not critical, leave the Watch Tooth field as Normal.
Click OK. The chart is displayed. A w by a tooth on the chart indicates that there is a watch on that tooth. A blue w indicates a normal watch; a red w indicates a critical watch.
To ensure your patient data is not corrupted, delete the watch. To delete the watch, select Clinical Notes > View Clinical Notes. Select the Watch - Calculus buildup note from the list and click Delete.
Identify the watch and determine its content:
Perform exercise 1 again, but do not complete step 6.
Select View > Watch Summary. The Watch Summary window is displayed. In the Watch Summary window, a blue circle around a tooth number indicates a normal watch, and a red circle indicates a critical watch.
Close the window.
On the Restorative tab, click the w on the watched tooth. The Patient Clinical Notes window is displayed. Review the information and click Close.
To ensure your patient data is not corrupted, select Clinical Notes > View Clinical Notes. Select the Watch - Calculus buildup note from the list and click Delete.
