Use the Attached Images tab in the charting module to attach images to the patient’s chart, to view existing attached images, or to re-attach images. The image viewer at the bottom of the tab displays thumbnails of the available images. Use the scroll bar to view the full list of thumbnails.
When you attach an image, an entry is made in the Progress Notes to indicate the image type, such as generic image, x-ray, or camera image. You can double-click a tooth to view or edit its Progress Notes entries.
The tooth # or area name and the date you attached it are shown as a caption under the thumbnail.
A small document icon appears in the Documents area to indicate the presence of one or more images. You can also drag-and-drop an image to the trash can to delete it.
You can populate the image viewer in the following ways:
Use the Capture tab to acquire new images. They are automatically displayed in the viewer.
Use the buttons on the top of the image viewer to launch or import images from your imaging software.
Right-click in the image viewer and select Import, and then navigate to the folder where images are stored.
You can right-click an image in the viewer and select one of the following:

To attach an image to a tooth or portion of the mouth:
Acquire or import the image into the image viewer.
Select, then drag-and-drop a thumbnail onto a tooth, mouth area, portrait area or document area. A camera icon appears to indicate that images are attached.
You can also associate images via the Edit image information command from other tabs in the charting module. For more information, see Associating Images.
There is no limit to the number of images you can attach to any area; however, the portrait area shows only the most recently attached image.
