Use the Capture tab in the charting module to acquire images from external devices and place them in a patient’s digital chart. These images can come from x-rays, extra- and intraoral cameras, digital cameras, scanners, and AVI-compatible video sources. Using the Capture and Attached Images tabs together, you can acquire images and associate them with specific teeth or areas of the mouth.
You must install a video capture card on your computer to acquire video images.
You can click External application to launch any of the other programs which integrate with PracticeWorks.
When you open the Capture tab, the system asks if you want to begin capturing now. Select one of the following options:
If the Capture button is disabled, your computer does not have the correct Windows software drivers installed.
If the live video window is black, it is not detecting a current camera input signal. Confirm that both the camera source and the built-in light source are on.
The Capture tab also includes a button to launch the dental imaging software in acquisition mode for intraoral video images, as well a button for PW Dicom.
