TWAIN refers to a programming standard for acquiring images from devices such as scanners, digital still cameras, and so forth.

To acquire images from TWAIN-compatible devices:

  1. On the Capture tab, click External application. A window is displayed, giving you these choices:

  1. If you have more than one TWAIN device installed, a list is displayed.

  1. Select a device from the available options.

  1. Repeat the above steps as needed. The most recently captured image appears in the upper-left thumbnail frame in the image list. To view all images, scroll down.

  2. When you have captured your last image, press E. You are transferred to the Attached Images tab so you can attach some or all of the images to the patient’s chart.

To verify captured images, double-click an image.

If you are using an AVI capture device, the buttons for Video, Source, and Display are active on the Capture tab. These buttons enable you to modify AVI capture device settings.
