Using the OrthoTrac Patient Lookup Window

Search through the list to select the name of the patient whose chart you want to view. You can use several methods to search for patients.

Navigation Buttons — Click the navigation buttons to scroll through the list of names quickly and select the name for which you are looking.
By Last Name — Type a full or partial last name in the search field and press Enter.
When the lookup window first opens, the last name searched is displayed in the field. It is not necessary to delete this name. Just begin typing the name you want to search for and press Enter.
By Partial Last Name/Partial First Name — Type the first few letters of the last name, a comma, and then the first few letters of the first name in the Search field. Press Enter.
By Combined Middle Name/Last Name — You can configure the software to list a patient’s middle name or middle initial before the last name in lists.
By Patient Number — Type the patient number in the Search field and press Enter.
By Responsible Party — Click the Responsible option button to search a list of responsible parties. Search for the name of the responsible party for the patient, using one of the methods listed above.
When searching by responsible party, a dashed line in the Last Name field signifies that the responsible party is accountable for multiple patients. The responsible party is accountable for the patient next to his name, as well as the patient(s) next to the dashed line
