Adding a Patient in Patient Flow

You can add patients to the day’s schedule from within the patient flow module.

You can also add patients by scheduling an appointment. If the patient is added to the schedule for today, the system updates the patient flow list according to the parameters you set in the Refresh Display section of the Display Options tab.

If the appointment is canceled, the system updates the patient flow list, indicating the appointment was canceled. The appointment can either be removed from the schedule or left on the schedule to be counted as a no-show.

To add a patient to patient flow:

  1. Click Add Patient at the bottom of the Staff - Text-Based or Staff - Photographic display window. The OrthoTrac Patient Lookup window is displayed.

  2. Select the name of the patient you want to add to patient flow and click OK. The Add Patient to Patient Flow System window is displayed.

  3. Use the drop-down list in each field to select the appropriate information. If you want to add a staff or patient comment, type the comment in the appropriate field.

  4. Click OK to add the patient to patient flow.
