Adding Treatment Steps to a Treatment Plan Template

When you are finished creating steps, you must add them to the template.

To add steps to the template:

  1. Select Functions > Maintenance/Set-up > Treatment Plan Maintenance from the menu bar.

  2. In the Select Steps window, select a step in the Available Steps section and click the right arrow button to move the step to the Selected Steps section. To move all of the steps, click the double right arrow button.

  3. Click OK. The software displays a message, asking if you would like to recalculate the treatment months for this plan.

  4. Select Yes. The Treatment Plan Maintenance window is displayed. The steps in the treatment plan display in a tree fashion.

  5. Click the plus sign in front of the bracket icon to display the detail for each step. Additional information concerning the steps, procedures, appointments, and notes is displayed in the Details section.

  6. Select a step, procedure, appointment, or note to view the additional information.

  7. To make changes to the steps, use the buttons at the bottom of the windowbuttons at the bottom of the window.

    • Arrow Buttons — The treatment steps are displayed in the order in which you added them. If you need to adjust the order, select a step and click the up or down arrow to adjust the position of that step one line at a time.

    • Add — To add steps to the template, click Add. The Select Steps window is displayed. Select the steps and click OK. The steps are added to the bottom of the list. The software displays a prompt, asking if you want to recalculate the treatment months for the plan. Click Yes if your changes could impact the treatment length. Use the up or down arrow buttons to change the order of the steps.

    • Insert — To insert a step in the list, select the step in the list that is below where you want the new step to be positioned and click Insert. The Select Steps window is displayed. Select the step and click OK. The step is added above the step you selected in the list. The system displays a prompt, asking if you want to recalculate the treatment months for the plan. Click Yes if your changes could impact the treatment length.

    • Change — To change the detail for a step, select the step you want to edit and click Change. The Change Step window is displayed. Edit the step as necessary and click OK. The system displays a prompt, asking if you want to recalculate the treatment months for the plan. Click Yes if your changes could impact the treatment length.

    • After you edit a step, the software displays a message, asking if you want to create a new step and preserve the predefined step, or if you want the changes to be applied to all occurrences of the step. If you select Yes to create a new step, you must rename the step.

    • Remove — To remove a step, select the step you want to remove and click Remove. The system displays a message asking if you are sure you want to remove the step. Click Yes. The system displays another prompt, asking if you want to recalculate the treatment months for the plan. Click Yes if your changes could impact the treatment length.

  8. Click Apply to save your changes, and click the close button in the upper-right corner to close the window.
