The NEA Status column of the Insurance Claims window displays one of the following statuses for an electronic claim:
BlankBlank For a claim whose insurance company does not have NEA payor information, as well as for existing claims created prior to installing the PracticeWorks software, version 7.0.5.
RequiredRequired For a claim with procedure codes that require attachments to be sent but have not yet been created. The claim has not been submitted electronically. The attachment status is automatically set to Required if the insurance company is an NEA payor and the claim contains procedures that require an attachment.
Not SentNot Sent For a claim with attachments that were created but have not been assigned a NEA number.
PendingPending For a claim whose insurance companies do not want attachments until requested. The Pending status applies mainly to Delta Dental claims in which the electronic claim must be transmitted before the NEA attachment.
IgnoredIgnored For a claim that originally had an NEA status of Required, but has already been submitted electronically.
RejectedRejected For a claim whose attachments were rejected by NEA.
NEA#xxxxxxxNEA#xxxxxxx For a claim whose attachments were successfully transmitted to NEA. This number is displayed in the claim’s Notes field and no longer has to be entered manually.
