Using the Voice Activation Module Commands

When the voice activation module is active, the following commands are always available:

• General Charting Commands

• Soft Tissue Charting Commands

• Capture Commands

To use the commands, say the words clearly into the microphone. Your success with the voice activation module depends on learning the correct command language, so be sure to use the voice commands below.

Using General Charting Commands

Use the following commands throughout the charting module:

• Start Listening Starts listening for commands.

• Stop Listening Stops listening for commands.

• Done with Voice - or - Exit Voice Exits the voice activation module. You must exit from and re-start the charting module to use Voice again.

• Exit Charting - or - Done Charting - or - Done with Charting Exits the charting module.

• Voice Help Displays Voice help screen.

• Voice About Displays Voice About screen.

• Go to [Tab Name] - or - [Tab Name] Switches to another tab in the charting module.

• [Tab Name] refers to one of the following: Hard Tissue tab, Soft Tissue tab, Progress Notes tab, Tx Plan tab, Attached Images tab, Capture tab, or Layout tab.

Using Capture Commands

Use the following commands to capture images in the charting module:

• Freeze Freezes the image.

• Unfreeze Discards a frozen image and returns you to live video.

• Save Saves the frozen image as a thumbnail and returns you to live video.

Using Soft Tissue Charting Commands

Use the following categories to issue commands in the charting module:

• [Mode] Refers to one of the following: Pocket, Furcation, Mobility, Attached Gingiva, or Recession.

• [State] Refers to one of the following: Bleeding, Suppuration, Exudate, Pus, Calculus, or Plaque.

• [Site] Refers to one of the following: Distal Buccal, Distal Facial, Buccal, Facial, Mesial Buccal, Mesial Facial, Distal Lingual, Lingual, or Mesial Lingual.

• [Tooth Descriptor] Refers to one of the following: a valid tooth number, the word "tooth" followed immediately by a valid tooth number, or the word "number" followed immediately by a valid tooth number. The phrase “Tooth number 7” is not valid.

Use the following commands to record perio exam data in the charting module:

• Start [Mode] Starts the specified charting mode and goes to tooth #1, first site. For example, saying Start Pocket switches to pocket depth mode and goes to tooth #1, first site.

• [Tooth Descriptor] [Site] [Mode] Goes to the indicated tooth and site, and switches to the mode specified. For example, saying Tooth 10 Buccal Recession goes to tooth 10, buccal site and switches to recession mode.

• [Mode] on [Tooth Descriptor] [Site] [Measurement] Goes to the indicated tooth and site, switches to the mode specified, and enters the measurement.
  For example, saying Recession on number 22 Lingual 1 goes to tooth 22, lingual site, and enters the measurement.

• [State] on [Tooth Descriptor] [Site] Toggles the specified state on the indicated tooth and site, but does not move the pointers to that tooth and site. For example, saying Bleeding on number 4 Distal Buccal turns bleeding on for tooth 4 on the distal buccal site if it is off, or turns it off if it is on.

• [State] Toggles the specified state on the current tooth and site. For example, saying Exudate turns suppuration on if it is off, or off if it is on for the current tooth and site.
  The words Exudate, Suppuration, and Pus are all interchangeable in the voice activation module.

• [Measurement] Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site. For example, saying 1 enters the measurement of "1" for the current mode, tooth, and site.

• [Measurement] [Measurement] Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site, and the second measurement on the next site.
  For example, saying 2 3 enters the measurement of “2” for the current mode, tooth, and site, and advances to the next site and enters "3".

• [Measurement] [Measurement] [Measurement]  Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site, the second measurement on the next site, and the third measurement on the site after that.
  For example, saying 2 3 4 enters the measurement of “2” for the current mode, tooth, and site, advances to the next site and enters "3", and then advances to the next site and enters "4". This is the recommended way to enter measurements, unless you also need to enter Bleeding, Exudate, and so forth on one of the sites.

• Undo Undo the last spoken command.

• Go to [Tooth Descriptor] Jumps to the specified tooth, and moves to the first site.

• Go to [Tooth Descriptor] [Site] Jumps to the specified tooth, and moves to the specified site.

• Previous Tooth [Site] Moves to the previous tooth, and goes to the indicated site.

• Previous Site Moves to the previous site according to the current tour.

• Next Tooth Moves to the next tooth.

• Next Tooth [Site] Moves to the next tooth, and goes to the indicated site.

• Next Site Moves to the next site according to the current tour.

• Measurement [State] Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site, and toggles the indicated state on the trailer.

• Measurement [State][State] Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site, and toggles the indicated states on the trailer.

• Measurement [State][State][State] Enters the measurement on the current tooth and site, and toggles the indicated states on the trailer.
