Charting the Patient > Using the Voice Activation Module
To adjust the voice activation module settings:
From the Windows Start menu, select All Programs > CS PracticeWorks > Configuration of CS PracticeWorks. The configuration utility opens.
From the Setup menu, select General Configuration. The General Configuration window is displayed.
Click the plus sign (+) next to PracticeWorks Electronic Voice Activation Module. The voice configuration options open.
Select any of the following options to adjust the settings:
Automatically shutdown helper application when charting is shut down?
Play error messages?
Seconds to wait for Voice application to start?
Select the speech engine to use on startup?
Show diagnostic messages?
Show selected speech engine on start up?
Use Voice control?
Repeat commands back?
Repeat measurements back?
Helper Application?
Voice activation module window stays on top of all other windows?
Minimize voice activation window except on Soft Tissue or Capture tab?
When you select an option, the bottom portion of the window displays the default, and lets you change the setting.
Use the Value drop-down list to change the option.
Click Save entry when you have finished with that option.
Click Close when you have finished reconfiguring the Voice application.
Exit the configuration utility. Changes are not evident until you close and re-open the Charting module.
