Setting Up a Dialing Location

If you dial a prefix — for example, 9 — to make a call, you must set up a dialing location.

To set up a dialing location:

  1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options. The Phone and Modem Options window is displayed.

  2. Click New. The New Location window is displayed.

  3. In the Location Name field, type XComm.

  4. In the Area Code field, type your area code.

  5. In the Dialing Rules section, type the number necessary to dial an outside line.

  6. Click OK.

  7. In the XComm window, select Options to display the Default Format window.

  8. In the Dialing Location field, select XComm from the drop-down list.

  9. Click OK.
