Using the OrthoTrac Charting Module Menu Bar

The charting module menu bar contains four options: File, Edit, View, and Patient Chart.

The table below shows the options available from the menu bar.

File

Print Bracket Tray Cover

Prints a single page of information about a patient for use by chairside staff.

Print OH Report Card

Prints the oral hygiene report card, which displays a graph of dates, scores, and descriptions based on the oral hygiene codes defined in Charting Maintenance.

This report displays the same oral hygiene chart shown in the patient’s chart, and also lists the oral hygiene scores and descriptions from the most recent date to the oldest date.

If no oral hygiene history is present for the current patient, the software displays a message indicating that the report card cannot be printed. This option is also available from the OrthoTrac Point-of-Care module.

Print Tooth Chart

Prints the tooth chart for the patient, including elastic placement, band/bracket history, and treatment notes. When printing the tooth chart, you can accept the default print settings and include elastics, combo box information, and extraction instructions, or you can deselect one or both of these options.

Print Tx History

Prints the Patient Treatment History report for this patient, including treatment entries and comments, medical alerts, patient events, elastics, upper arch, lower arch, appliances, cooperation, futures, treatment plan, promises, and next visit.

  • You can deselect the Include Notes option in the Treatment Card History Options window to exclude printing information from the patient's Notes tab on the Charting History report.

 

Print Tx Plan

Patient Copy —  Prints a patient copy of the treatment plan.

Office Copy — Prints an office copy of the treatment plan.

Print Setup

Enables you to select a different printer and printer options.

Exit

Closes the charting module and gives you the option to save your changes.

Edit

Edit Today’s Treatment

Opens the Edit Today’s Treatment Card Entries window, where you can make changes to today’s treatment information.

Search Tx Card History

Opens the Search Tx Card window, which enables you to search the patient’s treatment history by procedure or date.

Insert Date  F5

Displays today's date at the insertion point on the Notes tab.

Insert Date/Time  F6

Displays today's date and the time at the insertion point on the Notes tab.

Insert Staff Name  F7

Displays the name of the staff member at the insertion point on the Notes tab.

Insert Staff Name/Date  F8

Displays the staff member's name and today's date at the insertion point on the Notes tab.

View

All Tx History

Displays all of the patient’s treatment history.

Only Tx Comments

Displays only the patient’s treatment comments.

Futures

Ascending Date Order —  Enables you to view Futures messages in ascending date order.

Descending Date Order — Enables you to view Futures messages in descending date order.

Customize Display

Detach Selected Tab — Enables you to detach the selected tab, giving you the ability to view several tabs at one time, drag the tab to an additional monitor, and so on.

Detach Lightbar — Enables you to detach the lightbar and drag it to a new position on the screen.

Save Current View — Saves your custom tab display.

Restore Saved View — Returns your custom view to its original condition, if you changed it.

Restore System Default View — Returns the treatment card to its original view with all tabs together.

Patient Chart

Patient Checkout

Begins the patient checkout process.

Patient Information

Opens the Patient Information window.

Schedule Appointment

Opens the Scheduled Appointments window.

Financial Functions

Opens the Financial Functions menu, which enables you to access the patient’s financial chart.

Claim Processing

Opens the Claims window, where you can submit an insurance claim.

Word Processing

Opens the Word Processing menu, enabling you to perform word processing tasks and execute communications questionnaires for this patient.

Snapshot

Opens the Snapshot window, if you purchased this additional module.

Patient Tracking

Opens the Patient Tracking section for the selected patient.

Database Fields

Opens the Database Fields window for the selected patient.
