Recording Vital Signs During Surgery

Click the Surgery - Vitals tab to record the details of the anesthesia administered and the patient’s vital signs during surgery. The Vital Signs graph is displayed at the top, and the Drugs (Agent) graph is displayed at the bottom.

Use the Legend tab on the left to enable graphing for each specific vital sign. The corresponding color is displayed next to each sign. Use the Drugs tab manage drugs/units.

Entering the Time Record

Select the Timing tab enter Start and End times of the anesthesia and surgery, and the time the patient is transferred to recovery. Use the Time Out/Time In button to record breaks.

To record breaks in the time the patient is attended:

  1. Click Time Out. The Time Out/In window is displayed, and the Time Out time begins recording automatically.

  2. When returning to the patient, click Time In at the bottom of the window. Each break is recorded in a separate line item.

The total number of breaks and total time out time is displayed on the Timing tab. To view the details, click View Time Out Log. The log is displayed with the details of each Time Out.

Recording Vital Signs

There are two ways to record the vital signs during surgery:

Recording Drugs (Agents) Used

Use the panel at the bottom to record the time and amount of the drugs administered during the procedure. Time slots are displayed in five-minute increments. Totals for each medication are displayed at the end of each row.
