What's New in Version 17.0

SoftDent, version 17.0, includes enhancements in the following areas:

User Interface Update

The overall look and feel of SoftDent, version 17.0, has been updated with a more modern, streamlined design to enable you to focus on your patient information.

Changes to SoftDent windows include:

• Removal of "3-D look"
• Rounded corners on text fields and buttons
• New color palette and background colors

Charting Module Updates

Several enhancements have been made to the charting module, including:

• New Overview tab – displays key information about a patient's clinical history in one window. See Overview Tab for more information.
• Enlargement of existing Restorative, Perio, Exams, Clinical Imaging, and Treatment Planning tabs.
• New Notes tab – gives you convenient access to the Patient Clinical Notes window.
• New Labs tab – gives you convenient access to the Lab Case window.
• New Documents tab – gives you convenient access to the Documents for window.

Record Locking Improvements

You can now access and update a record (a patient record, patient chart, or an account record) from multiple computers at the same time. Previously, if you attempted to open a record while another user had it open, a message was displayed, stating that the record was being modified by another user, and you could only look at the record in View mode. Now you can immediately work with any record with no delays.

CDT-2018 Codes

The latest edition of the Current Dental Terminology (CDT-2018) codes is included with this version of SoftDent.

When the CDT-2018 codes are installed:

• Eighteen new codes are added to the database.

• Sixteen codes are revised.

• Three codes are deleted.

If you have not already downloaded the CDT-2018 codes, when you open the software for the first time, a CDT 2018 End User License Agreement window is displayed. Read the license agreement carefully. If you agree to the terms, click Accept to load the new codes.

• The CDT-2018 code set has been replaced by the CDT-2023 code set.
