SoftDent, version 16.2, includes enhancements in the following areas:
The software for CareCredit, the healthcare credit card, is now integrated with SoftDent, enabling you to accept a patient's CareCredit payment in the same manner as any other credit card payment. Now you can offer patients the opportunity to apply for a CareCredit account, present financing options to the patient, take CareCredit payments, or make refunds from inside SoftDent windows you use every day.
Two reports--Transactions for a Period and the Treatment Plan Detailed Report--now have customized CareCredit versions. In addition, the Daysheet now includes a separate page for CareCredit transactions, and the deposit slip also has a separate CareCredit page.
See Using CareCredit for more information.
You can now apply an insurance payment to a claim using a one-time-use credit card, which some insurance companies are providing for payments.
The following codes have been added to the ADA/Transaction Code list for new offices (or offices who have not renamed codes):
11.93 MasterCard Insurance Payment
12.93 VISA Insurance Payment
13.93 Discover Insurance Payment
14.93 American Express Insurance Payment
These codes have also been added to the Default ADA tab on the Practice Information window.
For offices that are using renamed credit card codes, the first available extension, starting with .93, will be used. For example: If your office uses code 17 for VISA, and you are not using code 17.93, the system will assign code 17.93 as the VISA Insurance Payment code for your practice. If code 17.93 is already in use, the next available extension (.94) is used, and so on.
If your office has used all of the reserved extensions for a particular credit card type, a message is displayed, stating that you must manually set up the code – first in the ADA/Transaction Code List window and then in the Practice Information window.
Only codes entered in the Insurance Payment by section on the Default ADA tab of the Practice Information window are available for credit card processing and claim attachment.
The bulk insurance payment process does not currently support credit card insurance payments.
Insurance credit card payment amounts are now included in the following reports:
Contractual Plan Analysis Report:Contractual Plan Analysis Report:

A new merge field--YTD Unused Benefits--is now available from the category list in the Letter Expert.
