Recalling Patients

You can:

Specify different recall procedures for adults and children.
Use alternating recalls for procedures performed on alternating visits.

You can set up:

Separate recalls for a different class of dental care; such as, orthodontics.
Set up specific recalls for individual patients.

Using the Recall feature, you can generate:

Letters
Postcards
Labels
Merge files
Telephone lists

Example:Example:You might call patients who are due to receive their first recall notice, send postcards to those due for a second notice, and send a letter to those patients due for a third notice. You must generate a separate report for each format and indicate which patient group is due to receive that notice.

Using Instant Recall, you can schedule a patient’s recall visits before he leaves your office.

The following factors determine the time slot for a recall appointment:

Last exam date for the patient
Recall interval
Recall procedure set in the patient record
Time units required for the appointment
Patient's preferred hygienist
Doctor's availability
Office hours
Preferred days and times for the patient
Goal or procedure parameters, if you are using color scheduling

When a patient is overdue for recall, the following reminders are available:

The patient record is displayed in blue text and the Overdue for Recall button is displayed in the Patient List window Alerts column.
The date in the Next Recall due on or after: field is displayed in red text in the Patient window.
The Next Exam Due field is displayed in red text in the Transactions window.
An ***Overdue*** alert is displayed next to the Last Exam field in the Patient Appointments window.
The Recall Overdue reminder is displayed in the title bar of the Patient List and Patient Appointments windows.

If a patient has a red medical alert and is overdue for recall, the record text is displayed in red in the Patient List window.
