Using PracticeToGo > Sending Data Back to SoftDent > SoftDent Commands and the Palm Organizer
Date Book commands enable you to transfer schedule information to the PC SoftDent software in the form of blocked slots, slot notes, memos, appointment cancellation notices, and appointment reminders.

To transfer information to the PC SoftDent software with the Date Book commands:
On the Palm Home screen, tap the SoftDent icon and select Appointments or Financials. The Date Book is displayed.
In the Date Book, tap the SoftDent entry you want so that a cursor appears on the desired line, or tap a blank line to make a new entry.
Tap the 123 dot in the graffiti writing area at the bottom of the screen to enter the Number Keyboard window.
Begin by entering the \ character (unless you have selected something else as your command character in the Command Tag field in the PracticeToGo User Preferences window in the PC SoftDent software).
Next, tap ABC at the bottom of the Number Keyboard window to switch to the Letter Keyboard window. Enter the rest of the SD Date Book command. Example:Example:
The command is case sensitive, so it must be entered in all capital letters. The command must also be entered without spacing between the characters.
For online tips about ways to reach the onscreen Keyboard, tap the tips icon (the lowercase i) in the upper-right corner of the Keyboard window.
Tap the Space bar on the Keyboard window and enter a description next to the command. When you are finished, tap Done to exit the Keyboard window and return to the Date Book.
To enter a note about the command, tap the note icon to the right of the entry to enter the note field. If a note doesn’t exist, click herehere.
Tap the entry, then tap Details at the bottom of the screen. The Event Details window for the entry is displayed. Tap Note at the bottom of this window to enter the note field.
Once you enter the note field, tap either the ABC or 123 dot in the graffiti writing area at the bottom of the screen so that a Keyboard window is displayed. Enter a note about the entry. When you are finished, tap Done to return to the note field. Tap Done again to return to the Date Book.
For easy viewing of your note in the PC SoftDent software, place the note text at the beginning of the note field. To ensure that the note will not be cut off in the PC SoftDent software, limit the text to two lines.
Upon the next synchronization, information about the entries you marked with SoftDent Commands will be transferred to the PC SoftDent software in the form of memos, slot notes, or blocked slots, depending on the command you entered. Memos added to the PC SoftDent software from the Palm organizer display in the Memos list window in blue. Once the information is transferred to the PC SoftDent software, the SD command you entered on the Palm organizer is removed.
