Defining Books

You can combine chairs into as many different books as you like. Each book has its own combination and sequence of chairs, its own hours, and its own settings for the four advance-date the top. You could, for example, have one book with all of your chairs in it, and another book with just your hygiene chairs.

To define a new book:

  1. From the ApptBook menu, select Different book... The Select Appointment Book to View pick list is displayed.

  2. Click Add if you are defining a new book for the list, or Edit if you are editing the Default book. The Appointment Book Definition window is displayed.

  3. In the Book name field, type the name for the book you are defining.

  4. Select the Default Book option if you want this book to be the default book for this workstation.

  5. In the Chairs included field, view the chairs included in the book. The chairs appear in the book in the same order they are listed. From here you can:

  6. Click Add chair to select another chair to add to the book. If the chair you want to add is not in the list, it can be added from the configuration utility. See Naming Chairs.

  7. Click Remove chair to remove a chair from the book.

  8. Change the order the chairs appear in the Appointment Book by selecting the chair name and clicking Move chair up or Move chair down.

You can name these fields as needed when defining a new book.

The Days to advance fields indicate how many days to advance from today’s (or the currently selected) date to reach these future dates. If you want to make these different for the new book, type over the existing values.

  1. In the Open on checkboxes, check each day appointments are accepted in the book, or deselect a particular day. For example, if this book is for a doctor who only works Wednesday through Friday, check only those days.

  2. Enter the opening and closing times for the selected days.

  3. When you have finished defining the book, click OK.
