Getting Started > Configuring the PracticeWorks Software > Setting Up Appointment Books
You can use the Block Booking feature to specify certain times of each day for certain types of appointments, as well as for non-appointment time blocks. There are two types of block booking: production and employee.
Production block booking defines time blocks for the practice.
The following definitions are provided by default:
Closed
Holiday
Lunch
Seminar
Vacation
Each type of block has a specific set of allowable treatment classes for which appointments can be scheduled. Each block also has its own color that is displayed on the Appointment Book. You can add block booking definitions for specific types of productions performed in your office.
Employee block booking defines time blocks that are specific to individual employees, and indicates when individuals are not available.
An appropriate security access level is required to add or edit block booking items.
