Using the PracticeWorks Utilities
The purpose of this utility is to ensure the referential integrity of the PracticeWorks data files. This means that if one data file refers to data that is supposed to be in another data file, this utility makes sure it is there. For example, you can check every appointment for a patient who is in the Patient file, since it makes no sense to have an appointment for someone who is not a patient.
To run the Data Integrity Checker:
Select the options you want to run.
Select Run in diagnostic mode only to find problems and not fix them.
Select Full logging to document everything that is found or fixed when you run this utility.
Click Run now to start the check. When the check is finished, a message prompts you to view the log file.
Click No.
Only click Yes if a Technical Support representative instructs you to do so.
Click Cancel when you are finished.
If a file is damaged or otherwise corrupted, this utility does not fix it.
