The software comes with a default list of procedure codes, and your office’s procedure codes are added to the system during the conversion process. You can edit procedure codes or add to the list as necessary.
The Procedure Code Maintenance List window displays all of your procedure codes, both active and inactive.
To set up procedure codes:
Click Maintenance/Set-up and select Procedure Code Maintenance, or select Functions > Maintenance/Set-up > Procedure Code Maintenance from the menu bar.
Select the Active Codes or Inactive Codes option button to view the appropriate codes. The system defaults to Active Codes.
To change the way the procedure codes are sorted, click or tab to the appropriate field; for example, to sort by code, click in or tab to the Code field. To sort by ADA code, click in or tab to the ADA field, and so on. The system re-sorts the list.
To search for a specific code, click on the scroll bar to scroll through the list, or enter the code or the first few letters of the description and press Enter to jump to that code in the list.
To change a procedure code, you have several optionsoptions.
Double-click the code in the list.
Select the code and press Enter.
Select the code and click Change.
When you edit a procedure code using any of these options, the Procedure Code Maintenance Details window is displayed. Follow the same procedures as those described in Adding Procedure Codes.
