Scheduling Module -- Terminology and Concepts

Familiarize yourself with the following terms and concepts you encounter when using the scheduling module:

Cut and Paste Scheduling

A time-saving feature that enables you to quickly transfer information from an existing or previous appointment to the appointment you are scheduling.
Doctor Cross-Reference

A feature that enables you to schedule a patient with the same doctor throughout the patient’s entire course of treatment.
Doctor Time

A scheduling feature that assigns a specific amount of time to a particular appointment type and enables you to schedule the doctor’s time to maximize the number of patients that can be seen during the day.
Drag-and-Drop Scheduling

A scheduling feature that enables you to drag a scheduled appointment with the mouse and drop it to a new schedule day.
Clipboard

A space on the scheduler where you can temporarily drag a scheduled appointment. You can then select a new day in the scheduler and drag the appointment from the clipboard to the new schedule day.
