Using the OrthoTrac Scheduling Module
The patient checkout procedure prompts you with a sequence of windows to guide you through the process. The windows that are displayed during patient checkout depend on the checkout options you select on the System Options window. See System Options for more information.
When procedures are automatically entered for an appointment, they are itemized in the checkout window.
The checkout process consists of several steps:
You can access Patient Checkout from several areas of the software, including the main menu, the patient chart, and Patient Flow.
To access Patient Checkout from the main menu:
Click the Patient Checkout button or select Functions > Patient Chart > Patient Checkout from the menu bar. The OrthoTrac Patient Lookup window is displayed.
Select the patient name and click OK. The Financial Functions — Charges and Payments window is displayed if Post Procedures or Post Payments is selected in the Checkout Options section of the System Options window.

To access Patient Checkout from the patient chart, click the Patient Checkout button. The Financial Functions — Charges and Payments window is displayed.
If you selected the Pt. Check Out when patient moved to Checkout option on the General Options tab of the Patient Flow Setup and Maintenance window, the Financial Functions window is automatically displayed when you move a patient to Checkout using Patient Flow.
Confirm that the procedures are correct, and enter payment information. To record these transactions, click the Post Transactions button.
You cannot exit the checkout process after posting transactions such as procedures or payments. For more information, see Exiting Checkout.
Click the Close button.
