Ranking Responsible Parties

When you add a patient to the software, you must add at least one responsible party for that patient, but you can add several, if necessary. The software ranks the responsible parties in the order that you enter them (example). If you entered the responsible parties in the wrong order, or if at some point the responsible parties have had a change in how they will handle insurance or financial responsibility, you can use the ranking feature to correct this.

To rank responsible parties:

  1. In the patient chart, click the Patient Information icon to display the Patient Information window. The ranking panel is displayed at the bottom of the window.

  2. With a responsible party selected, click Rank. The Rank Responsible Parties window is displayed.

  3. In the Rank column, click next to the name of the responsible party you want to change and type the new rank (Example).

  4. In the Rank column, click next to the name of the additional responsible party you want to change and type the new rank (Example).

  5. Click OK to save your changes.

  6. If you need to adjust the ranking for multiple insurance companies, select <Rank Ins. Co.> from the Responsible Party Information window.
