Configuring OrthoTrac > Setting Up the Schedule > Configuring Doctor Time
To use the Doctor Time scheduling feature, you should determine the amount of time it takes to complete each procedure and the amount of time a doctor is needed for each procedure.
To create your schedule using Doctor Time scheduling, determine the following informationinformation.
Doctor Units/Time Slot — The number of Doctor Time units available per time slot.
For example, if the time slot value is 15 minutes, and you have 3 units of Doctor Time, each unit would equal 5 minutes each (3 X 5 = 15).
List and description of all the appointment types (for example, EX = Exam, RC = Records, and so on).
For each appointment type, indicate the color, number of total units for the appointment, which unit(s) require Doctor Time, and how many units of Doctor Time are needed.
Example
Example
The EX appointment type is 4 units long, and the Doctor Time is 2 units in the 4th time slot.
When you have compiled this information for each appointment type, you are ready to create your Doctor Time standards.
