Archiving E-Mail in Patient Tracking

You can archive e-mails by integrating the Microsoft Outlook software with OrthoTrac. To do this, use the COM Add-In program to install the Tracking Add-In component.

When the integration is active, a new menu option is available in the Microsoft Outlook software.

To archive an e-mail in patient tracking:

  1. From the main menu of the Microsoft Outlook 2003 software, select File > Send to Pt. Tracking. The Patient Lookup window is displayed.

  2. If you are running the Microsoft Outlook 2007 or 2010 software, select the Add–Ins tab and click Send to Patient Tracking.

  1. Select a patient, and click OK. The e-mail is stored in patient tracking.

  2. You must enable Patient Tracking in Functions > Maintenance/Set-up > Security to use this feature.

To view an e-mail stored in patient tracking:

  1. From the main menu, select Functions > Patient Chart > Patient Tracking. The OrthoTrac Patient Lookup window is displayed.

  2. Select a patient and click OK. The Patient Tracking view of the Chart window is displayed.

  3. Locate the Scan: E-mail Message entry in the Tracking Description column with the corresponding date. Double-click the icon in the V column to display the e-mail.
