Exercise 1:  Set the preferences for a cephalometric image with an edge enhancement filter of 1.30, using blue for the latest tracing and red for the previous tracings.

To set cephalometric preferences:

1. In the Preferences window, select the Cephalometric tab.

2. Select a bone density contrast mode.

3. Set the edge enhancement filter to 1.30.

4. Set the colors for superimposition:

• Previous tracing—red

• Latest tracing—blue

5. Select the Show caution message at the start of each calculation of automatic tracings option to display the message.

6. Click OK.

Exercise 2:  Set the preferences for a panoramic image using a Sharpness filter of 0.75, previewing the image before you acquire it, and using a strong contrast mode.

To set panoramic preferences:

1. In the Preferences window, select the Panoramic tab.

2. In the Acquisition section, check Preview.

3. In the Acquisition section, select to apply the filter automatically to acquired images.

• In the Acquisition section, use the drop-down menu to select a strong contrast mode.

• In the Sharpness Filter section, set the filter to 0.75.
