Setting RVG Preferences

On the RVG Processing Preferences tab, you can set the RVG processing preferences.

To set RVG preferences:

  1. Set the following Acquisition preferences:

  2. Synchro-link installed—Select to install a CCX synchronization link and timer. The Acquisition icon is permanently displayed in green when the synchronization timer is turned on, and exposures can be made at any time.

  3. Display button to manually connect RVG 6500 sensors—When you select this option, an additional button is available that allows you to connect the RVG 6500 sensor to the computer.

  4. Save images to same tooth number as active image—When you select this option, you can acquire RVG to the same tooth number as the RVG image displayed in the Image Viewing Workspace. This is useful for endo treatment.

  5. RVG5—From the drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  1. Network shared folder path for RVG synchronization files—Configure the location used to store RVG synchronization files.

  2. Set the following Acquisition settings:

  1. Set the following Image processing preferences—The options available here vary according to the RVG acquisition hardware connected to your system. If you previously used Carestream Dental imaging software as your image analysis tool, these settings will automatically be retained in CS Imaging.

  2. RVG 5100/6100—From the drop-down list, select one of the following options:

  3. 6500 contrast

  4. Optimized contrast and sharpness

  5. Higher Sharpness

Note:  These options must be the same as the processing configuration of your RVG sensor.

Note:  You can also adjust contrast settings for RVG images post acquisition using the Image Processing tool in the Control Panel.
