Searching for Patients

In most cases, search for a patient using the last name. However, in the Patient Search window, you can find a patient using the  date of birth, patient ID, chart ID, or Social Security number.

If a patient cannot be found using the preceding criteria, the Advanced Patient Search window enables you to search by guarantor name, insured party name, or insured party ID number.

To search for a patient:

  1. On the WinOMS toolbar, click Patients. The Patient Search window is displayed.

  2. Type search criteria in the search fields and click Find. The records matching your search criteria are displayed on the left side of the Patient Search window.

  1. Select a record.

  2. Click Ok. The Patient Window is displayed.

  3. If you are trying to locate a recently-accessed record, click the Recently Accessed tab of the Patient Search window. Records accessed during the current session of WinOMS are displayed.
