Adding General Patient Information

To add general information about a new patient:

  1. On the WinOMS toolbar, click Patients. The Patient Search window is displayed.

  2. Click New. The New Patient Setup window is displayed.

  3. In the fields provided, type the following information: prefix, first name, middle initial, last name, suffix, and nickname.

  4. In the fields provided, type the birth date and Social Security number.

  5. From the Provider drop-down list, select a provider.

  6. In the Billing Information section, select one of the following:

  1. In the Pt Rel field, enter the relationship of the patient to the guarantor.

  2. Select a Billing Category from the drop-down list.

  3. Click Ok. The Patient Data Entry window is displayed, showing the Basic tab.

  4. The software checks to see if the patient data matches existing data. If so, a window is displayed, listing the matches and providing additional options.
