To update WinOMS on the server:
Share the WinOMSCS folder with the old share name (usually MDCS or WinOMSCS). Set sharing and security permissions to Full Control for Everyone. Do the same for Domain users and Authenticated Users groups, if used.
Verify that Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework is installed.
This information is located in Server Manager > Features. A server reboot is required after enabling .NET.
Shut down all workstations in your network. Alert all users to refrain from using WinOMS until the installation is compete.
Navigate to the folder where the Installer files are saved. Right-click the SQLServerCD 1.4.ISO file and select Run as administrator. You are prompted to confirm that you are installing on your server computer.
Click Yes. The WinOMS Database Installer window is displayed.
If an Activation Code or License is required, this window prompts you to enter the required code or license. Use the appropriate button and follow the prompts.
Click Install. The SQL Server 2019 database is installed on your server. When the installation is finished, you are prompted to restart the computer.
Restart the computer.
If needed, the Firewall Port to allow for TCP is 1434/1435/1436.
After the SQL Server installation is complete and the computer has been restarted, navigate to the folder where the Installer files are saved, right-click the CS WinOMS 10.0.exe file, and select Run as administrator.
The installer checks the computer for the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1). If these files are present, the installation proceeds as usual. If not, the installation of SP1 proceeds automatically. After SP1 is installed, you are prompted to restart the computer. If the WinOMS installation does not continue after you restart, repeat Step 4.
The installation files are extracted, and then the Select Component window is displayed. By default, Server Side - Update is selected.
Click Next. The Server Database to Convert window is displayed.
You can accept the defaults shown here, or:
