Setting Scheduler Defaults

To set the scheduler defaults:

  1. Select System > Change System Settings > Scheduler. The Scheduler Settings window is displayed in SCAN mode.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Select an option:

  4. To enable the Daily Appointments, Book At A Glance, Month At A Glance, and Tickler Entry windows and the Scheduler menu items:To enable the Daily Appointments, Book At A Glance, Month At A Glance, and Tickler Entry windows and the Scheduler menu items:Select Enable Scheduler. If this option is not selected, the scheduler windows are not displayed and the menu items are disabled. This option is selected by default.

  5. To enable Color and Goal Scheduling:To enable Color and Goal Scheduling:Select Enable Color Scheduling. If this option is not selected, you cannot set up color groups or schedule by color or production goals.

  6. To display a message that prompts you to log a contact after confirming a patient appointment:To display a message that prompts you to log a contact after confirming a patient appointment:Select Ask to log contact after confirming appointments.

  7. To delete the new patient and account records if the patient does not show up for the appointment when you generate the Missed Appointment report:To delete the new patient and account records if the patient does not show up for the appointment when you generate the Missed Appointment report:Select Delete new patients/accounts when printing the Missed Appointment Report.

  8. To schedule appointments in time slots designated for lunch when using the auto scheduler:To schedule appointments in time slots designated for lunch when using the auto scheduler:Select Auto schedule in slots marked for lunch.

  9. To track late appointments in the Tracked Appointments window:To track late appointments in the Tracked Appointments window:Select Track late appointments.

  10. To have the software prompt you when a patient is late and ask if you want to track the appointment as a late appointment:To have the software prompt you when a patient is late and ask if you want to track the appointment as a late appointment:Select Show warning message for late arrivals.
    Note:
    A Late appointment tracking record is still added to the database if you opt to only disable the warning message.

  11. To display office codes instead of ADA codes in the Daily Appointments (Daybook) and InOffice windows and print office codes instead of ADA codes on the Daily Operatory report:To display office codes instead of ADA codes in the Daily Appointments (Daybook) and InOffice windows and print office codes instead of ADA codes on the Daily Operatory report:Select Display office codes instead of ADA codes on Day Screen and InOffice.

  1. Select an option:

To assign the patient's default provider to all of the appointment time slots in the Daily Appointments window when the selected procedure is not associated with the scheduler template:To assign the patient's default provider to all of the appointment time slots in the Daily Appointments window when the selected procedure is not associated with the scheduler template:Select Default Template to Provider from the Default for Provider Template drop-down list.

  3. To assign no default provider to any of the appointment time slots in the Daily Appointments window when the selected procedure is not associated with the scheduler template:To assign no default provider to any of the appointment time slots in the Daily Appointments window when the selected procedure is not associated with the scheduler template:Select Default Template to Override from the Default for Provider Template drop-down list. Scheduling conflicts are not detected until you assign a provider when this option is selected.

  1. Type the number of days in advance a patient must call to cancel an appointment before it is classified as broken in the Broken appointment period: field.

  2. Type -1 in this field if your office does not track broken appointments.

  1. Type the number of copies of the Daily Operatory Schedule report to print in the Print copies of Operatory Schedule field.

  2. To print patient phone numbers on the Daily Operatory Schedule report, select Print phone numbers on Operatory Schedule.

  3. Select missed appointment settings:

  4. To send all missed appointments to the Tickler file:To send all missed appointments to the Tickler file:Select Enter Missed Appointments into Tickler.

  5. To remove Scheduler colors and blocked slots:To remove Scheduler colors and blocked slots:Select Remove Colors from Scheduler.

  1. Click OK.

  2. Click Close.
