After you have integrated PracticeToGo with either the Palm OS platform or Microsoft Outlook, you should make security settings to indicate who is authorized to change PracticeToGo settings and/or transfer data.
Both the Palm organizer and SoftDent have built-in security settings. Some settings apply to all users, and some are based on the user name. Before any data is transferred, the user name on the Palm organizer is matched with a user name and password in SoftDent, and the Palm privileges of the SoftDent user are checked. This ensures that only the authorized user can transfer data to a specific Palm organizer and that no other Palm organizer can be used to retrieve your data.
To mark a data category on your Palm organizer or in the Microsoft Outlook as private, select System > PracticeToGo > User Preferences and select the appropriate settings. Practice financial and patient information is marked Private by default.
It is up to the user to set up security on the Palm organizer and in Microsoft Outlook so that others cannot view private information.
