The PracticeToGo feature has two integration options:
PracticeToGo with the Palm OS platform:PracticeToGo with the Palm OS platform:
The Palm-connected organizer and the PC SoftDent program integrate through two software pieces:
Both software pieces are activated during data synchronization.
If you are running the Palm desktop software and have a HotSync cradle hooked up to your PC, SoftDent will automatically detect the Palm OS platform and prompt you to integrate it with PracticeToGo.
PracticeToGo with Microsoft Outlook 2000:PracticeToGo with Microsoft Outlook 2000:
Microsoft Outlook 2000 and the PC SoftDent software integrate directly with each other when you select the Use Microsoft Outlook 2000 option with PracticeToGo.
You must have the HotSync cradle connected to your desktop PC or laptop computer to perform integration or synchronization between PracticeToGo and the Palm OS Platform.
PracticeToGo security settings include rights to change PracticeToGo system settings and transfer data. Further, PracticeToGo user preferences enable the user to mark data-syncing options as "private."
Practice financial information and the patient list are automatically marked Private on the Palm organizer and in the Microsoft Outlook software; however, it is up to you to set up security on your Palm organizer or in the Microsoft Outlook software so that others cannot view private information.
It is a good idea to limit PracticeToGo System Setting rights to the system administrator (user ID 1).
Additionally, with the Palm OS platform, the user name is matched with a user name and password in SoftDent, and the Palm security rights of the SoftDent user are checked before any data is transferred. This ensures that only the authorized user can transfer data to a specific Palm organizer and that no other Palm organizer can be used to retrieve your data.
