Recalling Patients > Setting Up Recalls
When you add a new patient record, the adult or child default recall code procedure is displayed in the Last Exam section of the Recall Settings window. You can customize the recall information for each patient and override the default frequency, codes, notices, and time units.
If you do not select a code that triggers a recall or an explosion code, the Last Exam date is not reset when the patient keeps a recall appointment, and the patient record remains overdue for recall until you manually change the date. If you enter 0 in the Code drop-down list, the patient is included in the Recall report at the specified interval, but no procedure is associated with the patient.
To set Normal Recall information for a patient:
Select List > Patient. The Patient List window is displayed.
Double-click a patient. The patient record is displayed in the Patient window.
Type the patient date of birth in the DOB field on the Info tab and click the Recall tab. The default Normal Recall information is displayed in the Last Exam section.

To set the number of time slots the Normal Recall procedure requires in the scheduler:
If you update the notices sent count when running the Normal Recall report, the value in the Notices field is updated every time a recall notice is sent to the patient. If this option is not selected when running the Recall report, the value in the Notices field is always 0.
