Entering a Memo Command on the Palm Organizer

The Memo command enables you to transfer memos to the PC SoftDent software.

When you transfer a memo from the Palm organizer to the PC SoftDent software, you have the option of setting a frequency parameter for the memo. The frequency parameter determines whether the memo will display in the PC SoftDent software only once or at intervals.

Example:Example:If you place a daily frequency parameter on the SD Memo command, the memo you transfer will display daily in the PC SoftDent software.

To transfer information to the PC SoftDent software using the Memo command:

1. On the Palm home screen, tap the SoftDent icon, and then tap Memos on the SoftDent-Palm application menu to enter the Memo Pad.

2. Tap the desired memo on the SD Memo list to open the memo.

3. Tap inside the memo, at the beginning of the first text line, so the cursor displays there.

4. Tap the 123 dot in the graffiti writing area underneath the screen. A Number Keyboard is displayed.

5. Begin by entering the  \  character (unless you have selected something else as your command character in the Command Tag field in the PracticeToGo User Preferences window in the PC SoftDent software).

6. Next, tap ABC at the bottom of the keyboard window to open the Letter Keyboard. Enter the rest of the SD Memo Command and a frequency parameter. Example:Example:Enter \SDMD to update the memo in the SoftDent software every day.  

• The command is case sensitive, so it must be entered in all capital letters as shown. The command must also be entered without spacing between the characters.

• For online tips about ways to reach the onscreen Keyboard, tap the tips icon (the lowercase i) in the upper-right corner of the Keyboard window.

7. When you are finished, tap Done to exit the keyboard window and return to the SD Memo.

8. Tap Done again to return to the SD Memo list.

9. Upon the next synchronization, the memo will be transferred to the PC SoftDent software. Memos added to the PC SoftDent software from the Palm organizer display in the Memos list window in blue. Once the information is transferred to the PC SoftDent software, the SD command you entered on the Palm organizer is removed.
